Well done to all club members who took on the K2B and Fred Whitton Challenge over the weekend.
Some cracking performances from team UTC, and a few comments from those involved below.
8hours 33 for me this year!! Struggled today with legs cramping. My legs wouldn’t allow me to run .
Great effort everyone. I got round in 6hours 32 min. Never again, If anyone suggests a UTC team next year I will be support rider
Over the moon! Never done more than 14miles hit a massive body cramp at 20 but soldiered on and smashed a 7hr 19min!!!
Well that’s the 112 mile Fred Whitton completed with a big pb completing the ride in 8 hours 42 minutes. Weather not the best but didn’t damped the spirits of the riders. An excellent event organised by Paul Loftus and the Lakes Road Club. Marshall’s and all the helpers were brill. “Good Effort”
I started like a mentalist and finished in pieces 8:05 and no crashes!
10:45. Not as good as last year. Was aching quite badly and was very slow after Whinlatter, very nearly pulled out at 66 miles but the marshall gave me some grub and just see how I can on at Calderbridge. After a sit down with a cuppa I was fine, and got up all the passes without walking.
Anyone fancy taking on the EPIC next year? Friday – length of Coniston Swim, Saturday – K2B, Sunday – Fred Whitton
Go on………you know you want to!
